Have been anticipated this field trip for weeks! Glad to know that Dr Teh actually squeeze us into this fantastic event organized by the Malaysia Institute of Chemistry. She is the chairman for this event thought O.O.
Originally is for the Pre-U students, but then Dr Teh was thinking of exposing us to the real events happening in the world of chemistry. Theme for this year carnival is Natural vs Synthetic Polymer. To be honest, I have no interest in this topic of polymer before because it sounded so complicated. 4 talks, 7 hand on demo stations were arranged, but we just attended the talks and tried few stations' activities only, because it was always packed with people and look quite boring =.=
Seniors attended this event last year. Whole DCB2 went, but this year only 8 of us from DCB1 attended. But in the end of the day, only 4 turned out =.= Me, Mei Teng. Zard and Bryan... Lydia, Eva, Jessica and Coey put us airplane because of transportation problem... Haiz... They missed out so many fun things today.
We even purposely paid to go in for the exhibition about 1001 inventions during the Muslim Civilization ( Tamadun Islam). It is pretty interesting. The funny thing is, during Form 4 and Form 5 in history class, we rarely paid attention when the teachers were teaching this topic, but now we paid willingly to go and have a look ! AWKWARD...
One bad thing happened and it was pretty scary... Never expect of seeing this happened in my real life. When we were in one of the hall, with a lot of interesting interactive tools, accident happened. It was in the hall about flight where aerofoil, Bernoulli's Principle is discussed. Mei Teng's hair actually tangled in the fan! That thing is actually to show how the fan works and bla bla. When Bryan was testing it, Mei Teng said she wanna have a look on it. Then when she got too close, her hair suddenly trapped and tangled in the spinning fan!! Thank God Bryan noticed and faster stop the button! If not, I think I am going to witness the first death in my life... Ok, it sounds really scary and it does, but at that moment, I laughed so loud with Zard~ She looked damn awkward standing there and screaming for help. Keep shouting: pain! pain! pain!! Oi!! Pain !! HAHAHA! Thank God we found some technician to help us out... The workers there were shocked too... They said they never encounter this before....
Phew.... When this Mei Teng finally got rescued, then got teased by Zard. And here they go again, laughing and chasing each other.
These are memories which will be cherished forever...

Semester 1 ended!
Last published post was on May... I told myself not to abandon this, but still, couldn't make it... From a review of the first week in college, now the whole semester 1 is ended... Time really flies...
There are so many things happened in just these past 3 months. Make a lot of friends, get to know more on the society, learn to be independent, learn to be thrifty (still trying.... my very best.... ). Eva, Zard, Bryan, Seng, MC, Lydia, Mei Teng, these people are the one who support me throughout the semester. I think I would collapse without them... Of course, I am exceptionally close to that couple Eva and Zard and also Bryan because we usually are the last one who leave the college.
One week, 2 reports have to be submitted, one from chemistry and another one from biology. One week, 2 tutorial classes, one from chemistry and another one from biology TOO! Usually have to prepare beforehand for the tutorial classes. Conclusion, one week have to submit AT LEAST 4 homework. This doesn't include extra assignments, tests and quizzes... BUT I SURVIVED!
As usual, before you get into the sweet semester break, you have to endure the pain from semester examination! Past two weeks, I struggled 6 papers. Knocked out by pre-calculus... Have a strong feeling that the lecturer has the intention to make it so because we didn't do our assignment properly, which is true. Thank God that today, which I had the last paper is from Ms Selvi's Cells... Is the easiest paper among the 6, even easier than English....
Went to karaoke straight after our paper ended. Sang for 4 and a half hour! Happiest thing is that I get to sing Adele's < Make You Feel My Love >, 张惠妹《真实》, 信乐团 《千年之恋》!
Gonna miss my DamnCrazyBuddies throughout the semester break...

Review for 1st week of college life ~
Haiyoooo..... I almost abandon this place, again...
So, yeah. College started. Orientation week has over long time ago, and settling down time should have finished too. Is time for me to cope the studies and co-curricular now (which I haven no idea how am I going to do it >.< )
Let's talk about my course mates. I am a pretty anti-social type of person (my POV), but then some of my course mates say that I am too..... friendly? 太过热情? LOL! I didn't know that people think of me like that.
So far, the closest one I made is Shea Yong. He is older than me because he did foundation in UTAR but couldn't cope it so he transferred to TARC for diploma. At first, I thought he is a very quiet guy because I saw him sitting in the lecture hall alone for few times, but didn't manage to talk to him. When we know each other more a little bit, found that he is quite open and friendly as well.
Course representative, Weng Seng. Haha, another one! Thought is those goodie goodie guy, quiet and intelligent type. Then, found out that he is actually freaking siao!! HAHA! We didn't know each other in the first place so he became a course rep because the seniors picked him! Lucky him! LOL! But in the early stage of college life, I think he will be very busy which is proven now. Running to office to check out the timetables, contacting people, forming a group of committee members, contacting middle man for lab equipment and lab coats (what he did most recently). Remember of talking to him and his sister in the admin block after school while I was very sleepy -,- . But that ‘sister' is not really reliable xDD She said she is Weng Seng's half sister, until now I still couldn't believe it, but Weng Seng didn't deny it, so.... ?????
Drake, a person who looks friendly but sounds really serious on Facebook. Had a mini debate with him on current issues ... LOL!
Argh... Really didn't know much about our peeps in class! I can barely recognize them and we rarely talk to each other. All of us seems very conservative, very anti-social. Talked to Isaac about it, he said it will be better soon... SOON? LIKE WHEN? Couldn't stand the ice between us ...
Lecturers basically are quite distinctive. They have different style of teaching.
Dr. Teh (Inorganic Chemistry)
Serious, strict, achieved a very high qualification (PhD in Uni Cambridge), but in some way, quite friendly too
Ms. Chen (Physical Chemistry)
Friendly, approaching, understanding
Ms. Chia (Bioenergetics)
Super friendly, cheerful, good in using teaching materials for a better picture
Ms. Selvi (Cells and Their Organizations)
Friendly, tends to run out of topic when she got excited over sharing fun science facts with us
Ms. Tan (Pre-Calculus)
Blur, blur, blur and blur xDD
Tomorrow will be the first day to apply for the co-curricular course! Hope to get badminton, if not, better go for others....

Orientation Day for the freshmen!
Got up really early today, around 5o'clock... Cook instant noodles for breakfast... Urgh.. nothing better huh?
Departed from house around 6 o'clock, reached around 30 minutes later. The housing area around is really dark, no wonder a lot of robberies happens...
Saw seniors were having briefing for their duties during the orientation, all of them were wearing green color t-shirt, anti lynas riot ?? LOL!

Saw seniors were having briefing for their duties during the orientation, all of them were wearing green color t-shirt, anti lynas riot ?? LOL!
They are very punctual, from the registration to the whole mass call ceremony, all of it are on time. Got a packet of stationery which consist of the orientation week schedule, pen, TARC thumb drive, TARC Student Handbook and lanyard. Then orange coloured T-shirt for the freshmen this year, and a blue colour back pack.
The mass call is quite awkward because I really don't know who the hell is that person on my left and right... Then after so many months, finally I sing the national anthem again xDD In the early morning, only SAS and SOT students were called for mass call. After that, SAS students were transferred to sports complex for the briefing regarding our school and courses.
I have to say that, the briefing from the Head of School of SAS was really long... The part of introducing lecturers and staffs were seriously boring... Early in the morning, there are a long list of names and number of faces for you to remember, believe me, is not a good feeling...
After the long motivational and boring speech from Head of SAS, then speech from SAU.... OMG, why??!! Way too many speeches this morning! After that, we were transferred to respective lecture halls according to our course. Most of the SAS students came from Information System Engineering, Chaivat is one of it =.=! Engineers, engineers everywhere... Chaivat said out of 90 students, only 4 female student !
Seniors lead us to the lecture halls and we started our Get-to-know-you session. Basically is like a introduction of yourself to your course members. Found that, woah! So many students from other states! North to Kedah, South to Johor, East to Sabah Sarawak! But still, KLites dominate the course xDD From Ampang, Klang, Cheras, etc. Met few Kepong peeps too :) One of our senior, Isaac Chen also from Kepong. That was the time we know about our seniors, I just remembered few of their names only. Isaac, Shu Teng, Mico, Rosemary (haha, still remember Vincent Ross xD) and Desta..
I would say that they are really awesome people! Isaac is a really friendly, cheerful, sampat person, but little did I know, he is the top scorer for DCB! He got a CGPA of 3.99... Is a perfect score! Talked to him during the lunch break and he keep asking me not to stress up, just keep cool and it will be fine... Hope so..
Desta talked to me first, he looks alike Wei Han xDD When I first saw him, I thought, is this Wei Han's cousin or relatives?? He is a really nice guy too, very open, and very good in socialize with new people. He talked to many of us.
Shu Teng is the pretty one *blush*~ I can imagine how many guys in DCB will fall for her :) She speaks mainly in Chinese, but she is the scary one. Not because of the personality, but the job she had done to us!! When we were asked to choose our course rep, assist course rep, treasurer and printing manager, no one volunteer themselves. She literally point to someone and ask that person to join the election! But she is indeed a very decent and petite girl. She is from Johor.
Followed Mico for the campus tour, actually, I follow with Shu Teng but I can't find her after lunch break...
Mico literally brought us from blocks to blocks, buildings to buildings! She is very helpful. I asked her loads and loads of questions, then she gave me a proper guidelines. From study, exam, co-cu, society, vehicle parking, etc... We were sweating like mad because the tour started after lunch break..
Didn't know much about Rosemary though, only know that she is a Sabahan....
During lunch break, I firstly followed Shu Teng's group, but when we reached canteen 1, I was the only guy there, so it was very very awkward. But thank God! Wayne called me and asked for lunch, so I joined Wayne, Phui Yan, Kobe, Chaivat for lunch in Marybrown. Wayne is taking Finance and Accounting, Phui Yan, Suet Keem and her friend Hyuni are taking International Business. I have no idea what Kobe took. Chaivat took the Information System Engineering... I said bye to them before the lunch was done because DCB was moving for the campus tour...
After the tour, lecturer came in and gave us a briefing about general idea of studying DCB. By the way, we were combined with Food Science students too. The seniors asked us to make good friends with Food Science because in the early stage, we always had lectures with them. Dr. Ng, program supervisor for Advance Diploma was the one lectures us, but he will not have lectures with us in the future until Advance Diploma level. Ms. Chen will be teaching us for Physical Chemistry ! Heard from the seniors that she is a good lecturer.
By that time, everyone was so tired after the campus tour, and it seems that I was the only one asking questions to Dr. Ng.. I am really looking forward to study Forensic Chemistry! But Dr.Ng said, we must have strong foundation of chemistry in order to pursue the other advance field in chemistry, so, we must understands fully in Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry! Fighting!
After that section over, we practically were done with our Orientation Day! So we said bye bye to the seniors T.T I try to figure out way to go back to the main entrance, and kinda failed =.=! The campus is way too big to explore! It took me sometime to find the way...
3 things I wanted to do. Vehicle pass, certification of documents, making of student ID. And none of it were done =.=!! Have to fill in a form for vehicle pass and prepare documents to submit... SAS office is not opened for certification of documents yet, need to wait for further announcement... If you want to make student ID today, have to wait till 6.30 pm at least, the queue is way too long!
So, have to wait for the other day... Is a long and tiring day, but experience so much fun in the same time because of the seniors! Isaac even show us his own lab report, asked us NOT to follow SPM style, if not sure die die! You have to write introduction beforehand... WHAT?! Have to search for references in library... Mico told us that, most of the time, SAS student will not be able to join society because our time is very compact... Most of the time will be spending time in the library for resources... They even made a slideshows for us, kinda like a short video for us to see their life in DCB..
A lot of new faces... Have to make friend with them.... DCB1, please treat me good!
Part of me wanted to continue to study DCB, another part of me wanted to go for PISMP... Will decide later on...
By the way, just added Isaac and Desta on Facebook! They were kinda shocked that I manage to find them xDD Desta called me a professional stalker!

Mommy's 55th Birthday Celebration! (Day 2)
Not forgetting her thick thick revision book :) |
After church, we went to Westin Hotel for our lunch with Uncle David and the gang. I actually applied leave for choir and exemption from youth camp meeting T.T
We had a chinese dim-sum styled buffet, eat-all-you-can-eat style! The food overall is just averagely good. I found that Sheraton Imperial one is better.Their egg tart, fu chok wrap, braised pork noodle is good! We had our lunch for like almost 2 hours and had more than 30 varieties for dim-sum! Roughly had 100 bowls... Just ice-cream by itself, is already 20! LOL! As usual, the style of our family! Every meal must end with something sweet and good~ They have teh tarik ice-cream come with pisang goreng, black sesame ice-cream which is coated by mochi, durian ice-cream wrapped with a think layer of popiah skin or spring roll skin? Sounds weird, but is sinfully delicious!
Bro Teng and Wei Sin came today for mom's birthday celebration too! She bought a bouquet of flowers to mom too! That bouquet of flowers is really lovely!
After the lunch, Aunt Su actually suggest to go to Bukit Tinggi for after party xDD LOL! But dad said I am going to have my Orientation Day in TARC tomorrow, so better go home and rest !! O.O! OMG! ORIENTATION!

Mommy's 55th Birthday Celebration! ( Day 1)
This lovely old lady just turned into 55 years old today~ Haha, but actually we celebrated her birthday since yesterday till today, not forgetting Uncle David's 53rd birthday was celebrated too, even though his birthday is actually 30th April. So, maybe is a pre-birthday celebration for him? HAHA!
Few days ago, I decided to buy my favourite cake as mom's birthday cake, I know, being a little bit selfish here xDD But as what the chinese says: 己所不欲勿施于人, which means whatever you dislike, don't give it to people, so I am just practice this virtue by giving people what I like :) Hanish Vanilla is the flavour!
Actually the cakes were bought by Aunt Lai Foong, she wants to make it as a present to both mom and Uncle David. Another flavour of cake I bought (she bought) is Hazelnut World or something hazelnutty?? And then, because is mom's 55th birthday so instead of the normal, boring red candles, I purposely bought number-like candle~
Yesterday, Aunt Lai Foong and Lai Wah were the chefs of the day! They cooked at least 5 dishes, and Aunt Lai Wah brought her own homemade pau too! Aunt Lai Ang also came for the dinner. Mom reached home quite late because got replacement class yesterday. By the time they were preparing for dinner, I was having my own sweet nappy time in the bedroom, and I knew mom was back the moment I heard endless laughter downstairs.... Typical Loo's laughter style! When that 4 ladies sat together, that chaotic laughter will come along too xDD
Cousin Yew's daughters, Chloe and Joey came too, as usual, their main purpose is the play with Willson. While we were eating, Chloe and Joey suddenly close their ears, I was like O.O what the hell? Then only they said that the adults are laughing too loud! LOL!
Then we cut cake, sing song, take lots of photos! Chit chat here and there, enjoying the gathering~ Most of them like Hanish Vanilla, I am glad that they like it! Basically the whole 'celebration' is about eating and having fun! Too bad, Bro Teng didn't get to attend because of having a dinner with his fellow alumni of LJMU with Wei Sin.
Then, after the dinner, I introduced Kaichou Wa Maid-sama to Sharon and she love it! HAHA! I feel so proud of turning her into a Maid-sama's fan! Sad thing is we were interrupted by the kids all the time... =.=!

Achievement Unlocked!
After downloaded so many songs and 3 piano sheets, I decided to try out one of it. So I picked Yasashi Kimochi from Maid-sama. It is the easiest one among the 3.
Not forgetting, I decided to clear up my folder also. So I basically throw away all the old piano sheets, which is given by people... Mostly songs I am not really interested in. I only left River Flows in You and Canon in D.
Yasashi Kimochi basically means warm/gently atmosphere. In the anime, this music is usually played when Usui and Misaki are having their really sweet moments... The most memorable moment one of course is at the last episode, when they finally confess their true feelings and.... KISS~
I got so frustrated in the beginning because I just can't get the beats right, and always press the wrong key! I told myself, if you can't cope this song, don't talk about the others... I know, I certainly know that there are just too many good musics on the net which I want to try, really badly, but the difficulty level is out of my capability to do so... I took this song as my own exam, for sight-reading and presentation. Is really different from the usual pieces I played.
So far, I played mostly classical period songs, those old but grand pieces from famous composers like Mozart, Beethoven, etc. Those piece are far more complicated from the current age ones. A lot of turnings, dynamics and ornaments.
When I played Yasashi Kimochi, I feel so different. It is actually quite simple. The bass is just major chords and the melody is repeating, The style of the whole song is basically the same. Simplicity is beauty. I love this piece very much. After few hours of practice, I finally can play it! Not mastered, but at least I get the beats and keys right. The finger position troubled me the most in the beginning. Usually in the book, the fingering is given, by if you download pieces from net, it usually won't come with the fingering, you have to figure it out by yourself. So I just try and error lo...
1 down, 2 more to go. Muryoku Koritsu is the 2nd one I downloaded, from Maid-sama's too. Is more complicated one compared with Yasashi Kimochi. I thought a C major song will be easier... But I am so wrong... 3rd one will be Inshie Mahou from Fairy Tail. I didn't dare to flip to that page also...
I am a greedy person, now I discover another good piece from Maid-sama which is I'm Not Alone... The flows of music is really soothing... But it has 4 damn sharps! Never try piece with more than 3 sharps before... Challenge Accpeted? Maybe?
