Haiyoooo..... I almost abandon this place, again...
So, yeah. College started. Orientation week has over long time ago, and settling down time should have finished too. Is time for me to cope the studies and co-curricular now (which I haven no idea how am I going to do it >.< )
Let's talk about my course mates. I am a pretty anti-social type of person (my POV), but then some of my course mates say that I am too..... friendly? 太过热情? LOL! I didn't know that people think of me like that.
So far, the closest one I made is Shea Yong. He is older than me because he did foundation in UTAR but couldn't cope it so he transferred to TARC for diploma. At first, I thought he is a very quiet guy because I saw him sitting in the lecture hall alone for few times, but didn't manage to talk to him. When we know each other more a little bit, found that he is quite open and friendly as well.
Course representative, Weng Seng. Haha, another one! Thought is those goodie goodie guy, quiet and intelligent type. Then, found out that he is actually freaking siao!! HAHA! We didn't know each other in the first place so he became a course rep because the seniors picked him! Lucky him! LOL! But in the early stage of college life, I think he will be very busy which is proven now. Running to office to check out the timetables, contacting people, forming a group of committee members, contacting middle man for lab equipment and lab coats (what he did most recently). Remember of talking to him and his sister in the admin block after school while I was very sleepy -,- . But that ‘sister' is not really reliable xDD She said she is Weng Seng's half sister, until now I still couldn't believe it, but Weng Seng didn't deny it, so.... ?????
Drake, a person who looks friendly but sounds really serious on Facebook. Had a mini debate with him on current issues ... LOL!
Argh... Really didn't know much about our peeps in class! I can barely recognize them and we rarely talk to each other. All of us seems very conservative, very anti-social. Talked to Isaac about it, he said it will be better soon... SOON? LIKE WHEN? Couldn't stand the ice between us ...
Lecturers basically are quite distinctive. They have different style of teaching.
Dr. Teh (Inorganic Chemistry)
Serious, strict, achieved a very high qualification (PhD in Uni Cambridge), but in some way, quite friendly too
Ms. Chen (Physical Chemistry)
Friendly, approaching, understanding
Ms. Chia (Bioenergetics)
Super friendly, cheerful, good in using teaching materials for a better picture
Ms. Selvi (Cells and Their Organizations)
Friendly, tends to run out of topic when she got excited over sharing fun science facts with us
Ms. Tan (Pre-Calculus)
Blur, blur, blur and blur xDD
Tomorrow will be the first day to apply for the co-curricular course! Hope to get badminton, if not, better go for others....

Orientation Day for the freshmen!
Got up really early today, around 5o'clock... Cook instant noodles for breakfast... Urgh.. nothing better huh?
Departed from house around 6 o'clock, reached around 30 minutes later. The housing area around is really dark, no wonder a lot of robberies happens...
Saw seniors were having briefing for their duties during the orientation, all of them were wearing green color t-shirt, anti lynas riot ?? LOL!

Saw seniors were having briefing for their duties during the orientation, all of them were wearing green color t-shirt, anti lynas riot ?? LOL!
They are very punctual, from the registration to the whole mass call ceremony, all of it are on time. Got a packet of stationery which consist of the orientation week schedule, pen, TARC thumb drive, TARC Student Handbook and lanyard. Then orange coloured T-shirt for the freshmen this year, and a blue colour back pack.
The mass call is quite awkward because I really don't know who the hell is that person on my left and right... Then after so many months, finally I sing the national anthem again xDD In the early morning, only SAS and SOT students were called for mass call. After that, SAS students were transferred to sports complex for the briefing regarding our school and courses.
I have to say that, the briefing from the Head of School of SAS was really long... The part of introducing lecturers and staffs were seriously boring... Early in the morning, there are a long list of names and number of faces for you to remember, believe me, is not a good feeling...
After the long motivational and boring speech from Head of SAS, then speech from SAU.... OMG, why??!! Way too many speeches this morning! After that, we were transferred to respective lecture halls according to our course. Most of the SAS students came from Information System Engineering, Chaivat is one of it =.=! Engineers, engineers everywhere... Chaivat said out of 90 students, only 4 female student !
Seniors lead us to the lecture halls and we started our Get-to-know-you session. Basically is like a introduction of yourself to your course members. Found that, woah! So many students from other states! North to Kedah, South to Johor, East to Sabah Sarawak! But still, KLites dominate the course xDD From Ampang, Klang, Cheras, etc. Met few Kepong peeps too :) One of our senior, Isaac Chen also from Kepong. That was the time we know about our seniors, I just remembered few of their names only. Isaac, Shu Teng, Mico, Rosemary (haha, still remember Vincent Ross xD) and Desta..
I would say that they are really awesome people! Isaac is a really friendly, cheerful, sampat person, but little did I know, he is the top scorer for DCB! He got a CGPA of 3.99... Is a perfect score! Talked to him during the lunch break and he keep asking me not to stress up, just keep cool and it will be fine... Hope so..
Desta talked to me first, he looks alike Wei Han xDD When I first saw him, I thought, is this Wei Han's cousin or relatives?? He is a really nice guy too, very open, and very good in socialize with new people. He talked to many of us.
Shu Teng is the pretty one *blush*~ I can imagine how many guys in DCB will fall for her :) She speaks mainly in Chinese, but she is the scary one. Not because of the personality, but the job she had done to us!! When we were asked to choose our course rep, assist course rep, treasurer and printing manager, no one volunteer themselves. She literally point to someone and ask that person to join the election! But she is indeed a very decent and petite girl. She is from Johor.
Followed Mico for the campus tour, actually, I follow with Shu Teng but I can't find her after lunch break...
Mico literally brought us from blocks to blocks, buildings to buildings! She is very helpful. I asked her loads and loads of questions, then she gave me a proper guidelines. From study, exam, co-cu, society, vehicle parking, etc... We were sweating like mad because the tour started after lunch break..
Didn't know much about Rosemary though, only know that she is a Sabahan....
During lunch break, I firstly followed Shu Teng's group, but when we reached canteen 1, I was the only guy there, so it was very very awkward. But thank God! Wayne called me and asked for lunch, so I joined Wayne, Phui Yan, Kobe, Chaivat for lunch in Marybrown. Wayne is taking Finance and Accounting, Phui Yan, Suet Keem and her friend Hyuni are taking International Business. I have no idea what Kobe took. Chaivat took the Information System Engineering... I said bye to them before the lunch was done because DCB was moving for the campus tour...
After the tour, lecturer came in and gave us a briefing about general idea of studying DCB. By the way, we were combined with Food Science students too. The seniors asked us to make good friends with Food Science because in the early stage, we always had lectures with them. Dr. Ng, program supervisor for Advance Diploma was the one lectures us, but he will not have lectures with us in the future until Advance Diploma level. Ms. Chen will be teaching us for Physical Chemistry ! Heard from the seniors that she is a good lecturer.
By that time, everyone was so tired after the campus tour, and it seems that I was the only one asking questions to Dr. Ng.. I am really looking forward to study Forensic Chemistry! But Dr.Ng said, we must have strong foundation of chemistry in order to pursue the other advance field in chemistry, so, we must understands fully in Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry! Fighting!
After that section over, we practically were done with our Orientation Day! So we said bye bye to the seniors T.T I try to figure out way to go back to the main entrance, and kinda failed =.=! The campus is way too big to explore! It took me sometime to find the way...
3 things I wanted to do. Vehicle pass, certification of documents, making of student ID. And none of it were done =.=!! Have to fill in a form for vehicle pass and prepare documents to submit... SAS office is not opened for certification of documents yet, need to wait for further announcement... If you want to make student ID today, have to wait till 6.30 pm at least, the queue is way too long!
So, have to wait for the other day... Is a long and tiring day, but experience so much fun in the same time because of the seniors! Isaac even show us his own lab report, asked us NOT to follow SPM style, if not sure die die! You have to write introduction beforehand... WHAT?! Have to search for references in library... Mico told us that, most of the time, SAS student will not be able to join society because our time is very compact... Most of the time will be spending time in the library for resources... They even made a slideshows for us, kinda like a short video for us to see their life in DCB..
A lot of new faces... Have to make friend with them.... DCB1, please treat me good!
Part of me wanted to continue to study DCB, another part of me wanted to go for PISMP... Will decide later on...
By the way, just added Isaac and Desta on Facebook! They were kinda shocked that I manage to find them xDD Desta called me a professional stalker!

I hate you MoE!
So ya, they postponed the date from 22/4 until today. I checked up the website, it is not loading at all.... Can't even get the home page!
Guess that the website jammed due to the traffic for matrikulasi's interview name list...
GAH! I hate you MoE! No matter who won the election this year, make sure you refurbish your damn websites! Almost all government based website are poorly done...

How I made my decision in tertiary education...
Yes, finally is arrived! TARC Diploma in Science ( Chemistry and Biology ) offer letter is in the house!
Applied for PISMP in MoE and this together, it will be better if I can take PISMP but there are still no news about whether I am offered to sit for the interview session in MoE. Whatever is it, today when Lyn took the letter from the letter box and said: Ah Shi! Your letter from TARC is here! My heart was trembling!
Making a decision whether to do science related diplomas or art related had been a hard time for me past few months... I lack of confidence in doing science related subjects after SPM... I love doing Biology questions and I have the urge to understand, to learn more about the wonderful creation of God, but in the same time, I can't find any diploma which do Biology independently, it must be paired up with either Chemistry or Physics... Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical, etc... So I was in a love hate relationship with Biology... WHY YOU CAN'T LIVE INDEPENDENTLY?!
So, after considering this, I was thinking, well maybe I am really not suitable of continuing my study in science? Why not search up some art related degree courses? Studying art related subjects will surely be easier than science... Hospitality comes in my mind because I enjoy the service provided by the hotel while I am travelling. Experienced those majestic building structure, 5 star dining places in Venetian, Macau inspires me of pursuing a career in the hotel industry~ Maybe study Hotel Management so I can become a GM in a hotel chain like Grand Hyatt? Sheraton? Hilton? Or maybe study Culinary Arts so I can become a Michelin awarded chef in hotel chain? But wait, you always start up your career in the lowest position once you graduated from university, so that means after paying a bunch of fees I become a bellboy? NO!!! And I can't clean up dusty rooms! I can't wash the toilet! What if I can't get along with my HR manager, then I forever a bellboy?? Because I really hate the feeling of 'bribing' your boss.. So, the choice of Hospitality goes down in the drain...
Then what am I going to do for my degree??!! Tourism also one of my choice, but as a guy, becoming a tour leader or guide or even working in a tour agency won't earn much.. I sit back and thought, since I was a little kid, watching Hong Kong dramas is my hobby until now. My favourite genre of drama is either related to the legal field like 律政新人王,法网伊人,法网狙击,真相, etc or medical field like 仁心解码,On Call 36 小时,妙手仁心, etc or even forensic, only one series of drama which is 法证先锋~ HAH! Why not study law ? I dreamed of being a lawyer, standing in court, faced by the judges, send those criminals to the prisons or save those victims from wrong accusations by using my knowledge! Check out the fees structure in Brickfields and ATC, is quite pricey but still affordable, I think... So I talked with my sister who is now studying LLB in Sheffield and Pei Wen, her best friend about it. Still remember they were so surprised that I want to take LLB, Pei Wen even said: I think hor, you get influenced too much by those drama leh, is not as simple as what you saw when comes to reality... They strongly discouraged me of taking law. But, I give up on this is not because of their discouragement, is because I know studying law will surely be a burden for my family...
So what should I do!! This cannot, that cannot! Alright then, I remembered that there was once a career talk in school, and the counsellor from MSU once said, the widest job scope in Malaysia is accounting, for sure because the demand for accountants is.... is..... well.... never ending., another one will be education related.... AH! This triggered me! Mom and Dad are both teachers, why not I just follow their pathway? I will have no worry for my future because a job is guaranteed by MoE and I will have no worry for my life after pension... But I aim for a higher position, instead of becoming a miserable teacher, stress out because of those reckless students, better be a lecturer, more carefree and I am teaching a bunch of matured adults not those.... haiz... Ding! This is my goal so far, be a university lecturer! Teaching which subjects huh... Thought of Chinese Language also because Chinese Language is my all-time-favourite since kindergarten till secondary high school~ 2nd choice will be English, because again, English is my all-time-favourite too, so when I was applying for PISMP, first choice is Chinese Studies, second choice is TESL..
I actually wanted an experience of studying overseas like what my brother and sister had done~ Both also in UK, and I travelled twice and both times left me a very good impression about UK. The community there, the fresh polluted free air, the chilly weather, the foggy day, everything there is so intriguing~ The only cheap way of studying overseas is... Other than PISMP, MoE once offered Penghantaran Pelajar Cemerlang (PPC) before, last year also got offered but I see no advertisement about it this year... So, bo liao lo... Another way is take STPM and scored flying colours, apply for scholarship, fly to UK and study~ MoE changed the STPM system to semester basis since 2012, which means is easier for me to study and STPM cert holder has the chance of getting into public universities also, of course, MoHE gives a higher opportunity to the Matrikulasi student, but still, at least has the chance to get in.... Once you are in the private institutes, don't you ever dare to think of going back to public universities... Another problem comes! I don't want to continue my STPM with science anymore, so I decided to change into art stream subjects. My ex Chinese teacher recommend me to study in Catholic High School for it because I want to take Chinese as my subject also.... Dad went to Catholic High School and asked, they say changing of stream might take a couple of months, quite troublesome... So choice of taking STPM also bo liao lo...
And I can't believe this happened... After twisting here and turning there, I choose science again! The reason I gave myself is, I might be less confident towards sciences but, I am actually interested with it... And I have a strong foundation for it also... Why not give it a try?! That is why I chose TARC Diploma in Science ( Chemistry and Biology ) ... Lame right... after this and that, giving so many excuses, still back to science... But, this time, I am really really serious about it... I really want to score in my diploma! Have to maintain my CGPA at 2.75 and above because I received 50 percent tuition waiver, offered by TARC... Now, I see my future as either a lecturer in university or a lab assistant .... Maybe pharmacist? Maybe a Nobel Prize awarded scientist???! HAHA!
22/4/2013 or later, I will know whether I get offered for sitting an interview for PISMP... 29/4 will be my TARC orientation day and glad to know that a lot of my friends are studying there also~ Wayne, Phui Yan, Mei Yan, Chaivat, Nesha~
Oh shit! Just checked and found that the first scheduled date for interview is 29/4 also... =.=! Hope if I get offered, my interview day is any other day than 29/4...
Until today, I still don't know how my life going to be in 2013...
